What the insurance covers
This page sets out exactly what the cover on your rental does and does not do, because "fully insured" gets used loosely and we would rather you knew before you arrived.

- The underside of the car

- No deposit held on your card
What is never covered
- Damage caused off a public road, including beach tracks and unsurfaced roads.
- Damage caused by a driver who is not named on the rental agreement.
- Putting the wrong fuel in the car.
- Losing the keys, or damage caused deliberately.
- Anything that happens while the driver is over the legal alcohol limit.
What an excess actually is
The excess is the most you would pay towards repairing the car, whatever the damage costs. If the excess is 700 euros and the repair is 2,000, you pay 700. If the repair is 300, you pay 300. Full cover sets it to zero, so you pay nothing at all.
